GaiaOnline is a social website targeting teenagers. Unlike the traditional boxes and modules, Gaia users, gaians, use avatar to represent themselves in the virtual environment: chat room or game rooms (e.g. zOMG). Therefore, avatar is an essential part of the differentation among the users. Typically, users change their avatar to express and showcast their assets on daily basis.

AOL/AIM Mail is more than an email product; it's a communication tool. Behind the name of AOL Mail, there are three core features: mail, contacts , and calendar. In an attempt to serve a broad-based audience without sacrificing the experience, four versions of mail have been designed: Standard (ajax), Basic (html), Mobile / WAP, and iPhone. Furthermore, AOL Mail is localized in English, Chinese, French, Germany, and more.

The iPhone has made a strong impact on its users. It allows users to have more powerful control than WAP / Mobile mail and the iPhone native product. The interface provides users with a good visual experience. And the touch screen has changed how users interact with a product on a screen. It is an interesting experience to enjoy the new technology at the same time as building a new product for users.

AOL Mail - Mobile

AOL "Mail On-The-Go" is made possible using WAP technology. In 2007, mobile mail was upgraded to improve the user experience. Despite this product's use of more basic code, there are still many mobile browsers to develop for. This made AOL Mail On-The-Go a challenge to design.

AOL Sync

In an effort to improve the user experience, AOL Sync improved its syncing technology and opened up the channels to push AOL Mail content (contacts and calendar events) to users' on-the-go devices. This is done seamlessly even though it links up Mobile, Mail, and Sync products all within the AOL product umbrella.
