AOL Pictures is an online picture storage / management tool. Predominately, users share pictures via email. Public Gallery granted its users a new way to publicly share their pictures and interact with the picture-viewer audience. Also, an integration with Walgreens allows our users to get their pictures printed faster.

Face Recognition

The goal of the Face Recognition integration into AOL Pictures is to provide users with alternative ways of organize their picture assets. Exploration was done to merge the upload, navigation, and picture viewing experiences into "one" smooth flow. Despite the project being shelved during its (late) concept stage, I would consider it to be my favorite project because it would have provided a rich dynamic interaction between the system and its users.

Message Boards

Message boards planted the seed for social networking. While online profiles have become popular, it hasn't taken away the need for online forums. In an effort to engage and bring together valuable user content, instead of changing the front facing interface, the logic behind the product (i.e. breadcrumb navigation) was tweaked to have a more centralized message board.

Chinese / India Portals

Beyond expanding page views horizontally, internationalization (i18n) is an effort to leverage existing technology and serve a more widespread user population. Before the formation of the actual international portal teams, I helped to lay down the foundation for the vision of the product. This short exercise opened up my global view of design.
